For teachers: Turtleblock in class
Free ($0) is the block builder and the Pico W simulator. Standard ($30/month) adds ESP32, Raspberry Pi, Makeblock, USB upload, and .py downloads. Premium ($50/month) adds online project saves.
Students open the same studio in a web browser. No account is needed. Blocks stay in that browser on that computer. A class list and grading tools are not in the studio.
-
On the class computer, press Open Studio. Chromebook, Windows, and Mac can all open the page.
-
Start with Samples, and choose Blink an LED, or open Beginner Mode and How to Code inside the studio.
-
Let students run the Pico W simulator before they touch a cable. The simulator is for Raspberry Pi Pico W.
-
When you use a real board, open Chrome or Edge and press Connect Board. Firefox and Safari stay on the simulator.
-
Blocks stay in this browser after refresh. There is no online class folder and no cloud save.
Makeblock programs are copy-and-run host Python. The page does not run the robot by itself.
There is no teacher dashboard for assigning or reviewing work yet.
