Raspberry Pi blocks-to-Python
Free ($0) is the block builder and the Pico W simulator. Standard ($30/month) adds ESP32, Raspberry Pi, Makeblock, USB upload, and .py downloads. Premium ($50/month) adds online project saves.
Choose Raspberry Pi and snap blocks for GPIO pins. The studio shows Python you can copy. You run that Python on the Pi. This page does not connect to the Pi for you.
-
Press Open Studio and choose Raspberry Pi in the board list.
-
Snap blocks. The code panel shows Python for those blocks.
-
You can also paste Python and ask the studio to turn it back into blocks.
-
Copy the Python. On the Raspberry Pi, run it in Thonny or the terminal. The browser does not log in over SSH.
-
Start with a small program and read the Python before you run it.
The Pico W simulator does not stand in for Raspberry Pi GPIO on the Pi itself. Use it to learn the block shapes, then run the copied Python on the Pi.
